Submit Your Words

The Still Unsaid is a place for the things that were never said.

Each submission becomes part of The Archive, a curated collection of words that people carried quietly until they were ready to let them exist.

Your words can be addressed to anyone or anything. The goodbye that was taken from you. The apology you never got to make. The gratitude you never found the right moment for. The love letter you've written a hundred times in your head. The truth that would cost too much to say out loud. The words you rehearse in the car but never speak. If it's been sitting in you unspoken, it belongs here.

Say it however it needs to come out. Like a whisper. Like a flood. One sentence that's been sitting on your chest for years, or pages you didn't know were in you. I'm not looking for perfect. I'm looking for real.

Every letter that comes through is personally read by me, Mackenzie. Your words are held by someone who understands what it took to write them and treats them with the care they deserve. I share selected pieces on Instagram (@the_still_unsaid) and on Substack (thestillunsaid.substack.com) with your permission.

This is a safe place to finally say the thing you've been carrying. No rush. No judgment. Whenever you're ready, the archive is here to receive it.

A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

Is my submission truly anonymous?

Yes. Your letter is published without any identifying information. The only details that appear are the words you've written and the name or alias you choose to sign it with. If you'd prefer not to sign it at all, "Anonymous" works perfectly.

Who reads my submission?

Every single letter is personally read by me, Mackenzie, the founder of The Still Unsaid. No one else. Your words are never shared with anyone beyond what you consent to on the submission form.

What happens after I submit?

I read your letter, sit with it, and curates it for the archive. Not every letter is published immediately, but every letter is read with care. If you provided a contact email, she'll reach out when your letter has been placed.

Can I edit my letter after submitting?

There's no automated system for editing, but if you need to make changes or add something, just reach out via email, hello@thestillunsaid.com and I will take care of any edits.

What if I make a typo or mistake?

Don't worry about it. Every letter is reviewed with care before it's placed in the archive. Small errors are gently cleaned up so your words can land the way they were meant to.

Does my writing have to be "good"?

Perfect isn't the point. This isn't about grammar, structure, or sounding poetic. It's about honesty. Some of the most powerful letters in the archive are the ones that came out exactly as messy as they needed to.

Can I submit more than once?

Yes. You can submit as many letters as you need to. Some people carry unsaid words for more than one person.

Will I know when my letter is published?

If you provide a contact email on the form, Mackenzie will reach out to let you know when your letter has been placed in the archive.

Can I ask for my letter to be removed?

Yes. If you ever want your letter taken down, reach out and it will be removed. No questions asked. Your words belong to you.

Is there anything that won't be published?

The Still Unsaid is a space for honesty, not harm. Letters containing hate speech, threats, or content that names a real person with the intent to cause them harm won't be placed in the archive. This is about release, not retaliation.

A Gentle Reminder:

The act of putting unsaid words into language can sometimes bring up emotions you weren't expecting. If at any point what you're feeling becomes more than you can hold on your own, please know that there are people trained to sit with you through it.
